Seattle Holland Lops Policies

- When you inquire on our bunnies, you agree to ALL of the following polices below -

At SHL we strive for quality rather than quantity. Therefore, we only allow a limited amount of litters per year. We allow our does plenty of rest & recovery between litters and only breed them when they show signs of wanting to. Each bun we produce is very special to us and entails a serious life long commitment. All of our buns come with lifetime support. If you ever have any questions, concerns, etc. or are unable to provide the proper care for your bun, we are here to assist you with all questions! At this time we are a closed rabbitry and don’t allow visits to help protect our herd. We also do not offer stud services. Until further notice pick-ups will be curbside only. All of these policies are specifically in place due to scammers, bunny flippers, COVID-19 precautions and bacterial viruses that infect feral and domesticated rabbits.

Responsible Pet Ownership- No releasing your domesticated rabbits into the wild, you will attempt to responsibly re-home your rabbit if you can no longer provide the proper care for it. You can access our education page with available resources for responsibly seeking out & screening new homes. Please contact us with any questions with this process.

Deposits & Reservations

To reserve a rabbit, a 50% non-refundable deposit is needed to secure the rabbit upon our listed “Reservation Dates.” The final 50% must be paid when picking up your rabbit via Venmo or Cash. Deposits cannot be transferred or swapped to a different rabbit/s. If customer would prefer to reserve a different rabbit, a new deposit must be placed. If you have not placed deposit on the rabbit, the rabbit it still available for anyone else to do so. At this time we do accept deposits via Venmo or Cash. Pricing varies on each rabbit based on type, gender, color, pet or breeding quality. We pride ourselves on our pedigrees, but you are not required to purchase one. We will not hold rabbits any longer than a week of an agreed pickup date. If you cannot pick up or arrange for transport of your rabbit, your rabbit will be placed back up for adoption, and your non-refundable deposit will be forfeited. We do offer transport for an extra fee within the greater PNW areas. If we feel as though the buyer is not properly prepared to care for a rabbit we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any sales. If this happens, deposit will be returned. If a buyer backs out, we are not required to return or refund the deposit. If the rabbit you have reserved becomes ill or dies while in our possession we will do our best to accommodate you. If your rabbit becomes ill or dies after sale, while in your possession, we are not liable unless proven it was an underlying cause that was present before the sale. You are responsible for proving this. All rabbits stay with us until at least 8 weeks of age. If we feel as though a rabbit needs extra time with mom, we reserve the right to keep it up to 13 weeks of age.

Litters can be unpredictable therefore - We DO NOT do a waitlist.

Screening

To ensure our babies go to the best homes possible, we screen each person before inquiries are answered or deposits are taken. If we feel as though a person isn’t capable of providing the proper care for our babies, we reserve the right to refuse a sale. Bunnies are a serious life long commitment. Not everyone is prepared or understands the proper care and needs of bunnies. Therefore, we are here to help properly educate you and your family! Since we only breed a few litters per year, we will not accept any discounts on our bunnies! This is to ensure the safety and well-being of our babies as well as cover any feed, hay, vitamins/probiotics, deworming & vet health check-up fees. They deserve nothing but the best homes. To make certain of this, we will not sell more than 1-2 bunnies from the same litter to the same household. Approved and verified breeders may be an acceptation to this rule. Screening process REQUIRES vet information (if you choose to use one) and pictures of future/ current setup and supplies you have prepared for your new bunny, as well as proof of photo ID to verify identity and age. You must be 18+ to reserve a bunny. All parent bunnies are health checked and vaccinated annually, therefor all of our kits are healthy to the absolute best of our knowledge. We reserve the right to ask any questions to ensure the proper care of our baby bunnies. We do this in hopes that our bunnies stay in the original homes we place them in. After you have been approved from the screening process I will contact you with future breeding plans or available kits when they are 4-6 weeks of age. I do not constantly have baby bunnies on deck. If you are not willing to patiently wait for one of our babies, SHL might not be the right match for you. Pet homes are REQUIRED to sign a spay & neuter contract upon pick up.

Shipping & Transport

At this time we DO NOT offer shipping. We do occasionally offer personal transportation in approved areas at an extra cost. With current circumstances I do not feel comfortable shipping bunnies or putting them on transport. Due to scammers and bunny flippers, I prefer to meet my buyers in person. I’m only comfortable using certain transport services as most transport services are irresponsible and put healthy rabbits at risk by hauling sick rabbits with them or by driving through RHVD hot spot zones.

If you are out of state & willing to travel to Seattle, Washington, I’m willing to discuss further adoption arrangements after you’ve passed screening. You can look into Alaska airlines as they allow bunnies on board with you in the cabin.

Read more information on Alaska airlines policies here. If this is something you’re interested in please specify in your screening application or email us.

Pricing

We offer Pet & Breeding Holland Lops & occasionally Show Quality. Pricing is determined off of Breed, Color, Gender, Type, Quality of bunny and the Genetics behind them. These prices reflect the time I put into my bunnies. Our parent buns are health checked & vaccinated annually therefor all kits are healthy to the absolute best of our knowledge when sold. We don’t sell to profit. We invest every last dollar back into the bunnies via high quality feed and hay, probiotics and daily veg to ensure the best nutrition per bunny possible, vet health checks, toys, cage and free roam area upgrades and anything else they might need. We also donate to local rescues & other friends within the community that take in bunnies from bad situations.
